A meeting / interaction session is scheduled on 11 May 2022 to discuss a proposal from Codechef. CodeChef was started in 2009 as an educational initiative for the programming community by Directi, an Indian software products company. CodeChef is one of the world’s largest and popular global competitive programming platforms preferred by student & professional programmers. In 2020, CodeChef was added under the aegis of the Unacademy brand. Possibilities of students from Goa colleges benefiting from this initiative was discussed

Demo on Student Personal and Career development consulting services

A meeting / interaction session was conducted on 21 April 2022 at 03:00pm at the IT Department auditorium (GEC). The meeting was regarding student personal and career development consulting services offered by Mr. Kishore Shah (GDP Foundation). The proposal was elaborated stating the long term benefits for students and for the college.

SOLO Platform demo Spark+ Technologies

 19th April 2022

A meeting / interaction session was scheduled on 19 April 2022 (Tuesday) 09:45am onwards at the Mining Department auditorium (GEC). The meeting was attended by DTE Dr. Vivek Kamat along with GEC Principal Dr. R B Lohani, and faculties from other institutions. Mr. Sudesh introduced to the faculties their SOLO platform. An overview of the Solo platform was given from an individual perspective, as well as from institutions’ and companies’ perspectives. The various features of the Solo platform for Institutions and a Real time Demo of the product was given.

Faculty Development Programme exclusively for REACHA- IBM SkillsBuild partner institutions

REACHA- IBM SkillsBuild organised a high impact Faculty Development Programme exclusively for REACHA- IBM SkillsBuild partner institutions.

The training session programme was free to attend. Each institution could have only two members. The Faculty Development Programme was led by highly accomplished Industry Expert who facilitated the session. The session helped participants to develop/ enhance the following:
(1)Right Mindset, Knowledge, Skills and Tools for building their Professional & Personal Brand in the digital age (2)Skills to create Engaging learning environment, and High impact sessions, especially when these are delivered through digital medium

Trellissoft interaction with HR and Management

An interactive session with Trellisoft officials and Training and Placement Officers of various colleges across Goa was organized by Trellisoft. The faculty were appraised about the hiring process at Trellisoft along with an understanding of their work culture was briefed on. The requirements and challenges faced by the colleges were discussed.

Persistent Primus- The Beginning

In the efforts to provide Persistent selected candidates with more clarity towards their first Job and exciting journey they are about to start, PSL had organized an exclusive program by the name Persistent Primus- The beginning. They had invited all the candidates who have been selected with Persistent along with their Parents. This also included the candidates who have not yet responded to their offers and also the few who had declined it.

During this event, to bring in more trust and excitement for their forward looking journey, they had invited parents where they interacted with the CEO Mr. Sandeep Kalra along with CPO Mr. Sameer Bendre. This event also had some important announcements which were very beneficial for the candidates for their career growth at Persistent.

 

TCS NQT Presentation

TCS NQT is a nationwide test that assesses candidates’ job-readiness based on their cognitive skills, job-specific skills, industry knowledge, and workplace attitude. Post taking the test, candidates can directly apply for jobs of their choice, in multiple corporates through TCS iON Job Listing Platform. Many corporates, including TCS, are planning their annual hiring through the NQT certified pool, thus increasing campus placement chances. A demo of the platform was presented.

‘IBM Skills Build on Campus Orientation ’ by IBM Reacha

The IBM Reacha Team visited the GEC Campus to conduct the physical orientation for students for the IBM Skills Build Program. The orientation was scheduled in phases. The IBM SKillsBuild Program is launched for several institutes across Goa and GEC is one such. These skills build programs (for all branches) will sharpen and polish existing skills with respect to hiring and industry standards. In a nutshell, this program launched by IBM aims at career building and placements of a student. After completing a certain skill set IBM will award a badge. These skills build camp learning is completely free.

Zimetrics Training

An online meeting was been organised by Zimetrics company to discuss about placement process and requirements for their company. Issues faced by colleges were also discussed.

TCS Capsules Program – 3 Days Program

 15th - 17th Jul 2021

TCS designed a 3 day program (TCS Capsules) especially for 3rd year Engineering students to groom them for their upcoming placement season. Topics covered were Overview of TCS & career opportunities with TCS. A better perspective was given by inviting distinguished alumni from various institutes to have a brief interaction with the students. Focus was also laid on the candidate's technical skills and the industry knowledge. Eminent guest speakers spoke about digital technologies, recent trends in IT industry, etc. Resume Building and Interview preparation for the readiness of a candidate from Soft Skills perspective was also done.
