Blood donation Camp

 25th November 2021

The NSS-GEC in association with Sarthak Foundation organised a blood donation camp on 25th November 2021 with the GMC Blood Bank. The NSS students and programme officers prepared for this camp by creating awareness and setting up the needed facility in the Information Technology Department. This camp saw a huge response with over 100 voluntary donors. The Principal Dr. R.B. Lohani, Faculty members, staff and students from GEC as well as NIT and IIT Goa participated in the camp.

National Youth Parliament

  11th November 2021

The NSS-GEC students and programme officers participated in the National Youth Parliament on 11th Nov 2021 which was held at Dr. Shyama Prasad Mukheerji stadium. About 35 NSS students participated in the events of the day which included sessions by youth from different states of India. The sessions focused on aspects of national integration through constitution and culture, the need for the New Education Policy which will strengthen the foundation of the youth of this country. Many eminent personalities shared their thoughts with the youth present.

Cleanliness Drive

 28th October 2021

The NSS-GEC students organized and participated in a cleanliness drive in the campus of Goa college of Engineering on 28th October 2021. The NSS students and program officers enthusiastically participated in the same. More than 90 NSS volunteers took part in this drive. The students were divided into four groups and the leaders took charge of the activity of each group. The activity was carried out for two hours. The NSS GEC hope that this activity helped bring awareness among the students in particular and each and every citizen in general of the importance of clean and hygienic surroundings

Van Mohotsav

 5th August 2021

The Nature Club of Goa College of Engineering in co-ordination with the GEC NSS unit celebrated Van Mohotsav on 5th August 2021 in the Mining Engineering Department,Goa College of Engineering with a tree plantation drive in the presence of Staff, students and invited guests.

The Chief Guest for the function was Hon MLA of Marcaim Constituency Shri. Sudhin Dhavlikar. The Guest of Honour was Shri Deepak Betkikar, Range Forest Officer,Ponda. Also present for the function was the Sarpanch of Bandora Shri Rajesh Naik and panch member Shri Vaman.
The Function began with the The Principal of Goa College of Engineering Dr. R.B. Lohani giving a with a floral welcome to the Hon’ MLA Shri. Sudhin Dhavlikar. Prof Ulhas Savoikar, Head of Mining Department and advisor of the Nature club welcomed the other guests.
Prof Ulhas Savoikar then escorted the dignitaries to proceed with the plantation drive. All present participated in this activity with a lot of enthusiasm.
This was followed by the dignitaries addressing the gathering. In his address the Hon MLA stressed upon the importance of tree plantation and his constant effort to montivate citizens to plant trees.
